ircd-seven is freenode's successor to Hyperion, they made the switch from Hyperion in January 2010.[2]. ircd-seven is based off Charybdis.[3]
The following features were added to ircd-seven from charybids:
- Helper user mode (+h)
- Hostslashes (merged into charybdis 3)
- OPER propagation
- Remote /mod* commands
- /remove
