Circe is an IRC services set written in Perl using POE, Moose, and a hacked-up POE::Component::Server::IRC.

It is currently in active development and is powering the blackcobalt IRC network as of November 2, 2011.

Circe is designed around oftc-hybrid/bc and should not be expected to work with other IRC daemons.

Features

  • All expected ChanServ & NickServ functionality
  • Easy-to-parse YAML databases
  • Snappy, event-oriented design
  • Complete oftc-hybrid/bc compatibility
  • Can (mostly) import ircservices5.1 XML exports
  • Many subtle simplifications and improvements over ircservices5
  • Strong password security (defaults to Bcrypt)
